Group 55



Day 1: Today is the first day researching our experiment, 'Pepsi or Coke'. We have discovered some background on the topic, we have a great hypothesis, and we put together a bit of information on how our experiment is going to work. We evenly split up our work between the four of us and we figured out what needs to be done together. We are ready to move on to the next step! We are now discovering the independent and dependent variables, the control group, and the experimental group. Tomorrow we will be moving on in testing out our experiment!

Day 2: Today we are continuing our research! we discovered today the exact way our experiment will work. We will have two cups of soda that the participant will individually drink from. Both cups will be filled with either Coke Or Pepsi. We will tell the participant that one is filled with Coke and one is filled with Pepsi. We will record the reaction and the response of the participant to see if they agree that they are both Coke or if they can see the difference in the soda. This experiment is based off of the Placebo Effect.

Day 3: Today is our 3rd day working on our experiment. We are listing items that we need for setting up our experiment and the booth. This is what our setup will look like.

-We will have a table cloth covering our table completely. The table cloth MUST be covering the table so the participants cannot see whats underneath it.  We will be hiding the bottles of Pepsi and Coke underneath the table and also pouring the sodas under the table so they cannot see that its Coke in both cups.
-We will have a poster on the table saying the name of our experiment.
-We will have a laptop to tally the responses.

Day 4: Today we are creating our poster that has our information and experiment title on it. We are also making sure that we have all of the materials that will be needed the day of the psychology fair.

Group's Folder 11/12/18  The first workday for the project I began to compile each Student Handout into one shared folder for my group mates and I. Recently, I have been working on completing these assignments by researching experiments related to our experiment. I have found many helpful and intriguing articles by credible sources. 11/13/18  The second workday for the project I read the articles gathered by my groupmates and worked on the summary for our experiment research. Today was the day we ultimately decided on how the procedure at the Psych Fair would go. In simple terms, we would test to see if the music in movies has any more effect on the audience than without it. We would give them a rating scale from 0-5 and ask them how they felt. 0 being sad and 5 being mad, with 3 being an in between such as a neutral or happy state.
