Group 39

Day 1: Today we are going over the process we will take in order to create our experiment. We plan on researching more and finding about about what phantom limb syndrome is and how we can recreate this in an experiment setting. We are dividing up parts of the project between group members and each contributing to our own individual understanding of the topic. It was only Sean and I today so work was a bit slow. ://

Day 2: Today we are finishing up with our worksheets. We are each splitting up the work and then going over all of the information we gather together once we are done individually. We want to find other examples of experiments and also make sure that we filled out the sheets correctly and to the best of our ability. 
Day 3: Today we are splitting up the work for pages 16 17 and 18. We are trying to figure out what materials we need for the actual experiment. So far we have found out that we will need a rubber hand, a cloth to put over the hand of the person, a folder or some sort of paper to create two separate areas on the table and a brush to brush the person's hand. 

Day 4: We are finishing up the three papers from yesterday that are due on Friday. We also planned out what kind of folder we are going to put up to divide the table between the person's real hand and the fake one. 

Day 5: Today we made our Google form and came up with questions to ask the people participating in our experiment. We are figuring out what part of the experiment we want to focus on the most and how we expect people to react. 

Psych Fair: Today is the fair! we are excited to begin our experiment and see how people react. We are expecting a lot of people to be scared but there will for sure be some that know the experiment. 

After the Fair: We learned a lot about our experiment and it was really interesting to see what happened with people and how they reacted. There were lots of people who knew about the hammer but when we distracted them and brushed their hand for 2 minutes, a lot still got scared. Lots of people got creeped out by how much they felt the hand was really theirs.

11/12/18 For our project, our group has decided to study fear. We wanted to know how the body reacts to fear and why, as well as what makes us afraid of certain things. We have decided to create a dark room for people to enter and then inhibit a few of their main senses in order to see how a person reacts when they cannot control their surroundings. After, we will be asking those who have gone through our "dark room" questions about how they felt during the entire process as well as after it. In order to measure the body's response, we will be taking the person's blood pressure before the experiment and right after as well. 11/13/18 Today, we all worked together as a group in order to finish all of our student handouts. We were missing a group member so it did require us to work harder, but we almost finished. Day 1 - Working on student handouts and submitting them by 11:59 tonight. We completed handout 16 and 17 in class together. Finished handout 13. After completing this we worked on annotations. Day 4 - We disguised the layout of our poster and started working on the creation of our surveys. Day 1 My groups' experiment is seeing if there is any direct correlation between the personality and traits of individuals that see 1 image first in a figure ground illusion. On our first day we did all of our student handout sheets. These sheets had our division of labor, hypothesis, study research, and experimental designs on them. Day 2 My group worked on our project outline and went through the different research papers we found on our topic so we could get an idea of what to do with our experiment. Day 3 My group finished all our student handouts and started discussing what questions we are going to ask people on our survey. We then decided on 10 questions we are going to ask people such as age, gender, and favorite type of music. Day 4 We started figuring out what we are going to write up on our poster and what images we are going to use.
