Day 1

For our experiment we chose to do how Gymnena Sylvestre tea affects our taste of sugar. This type of tea is from India and helps diabetics so they will not be addicted to sugar. How this experiment will be performed is an individual will receive a small amount of this tea in a cup and a Hershey kiss. The subjects who will be performing in this experiment must drink the all of the tea that they receive, then after 15 seconds eat their piece of chocolate. What they will come to realize is that the piece of chocolate they are eating does not taste the same as it usually does. That's because this tea messes with are taste buds so we are not able to taste the sugar in the chocolate. Without the taste of sugar we realize that chocolate actually taste like nothing.

Day 2

Today we completed the rest of our student handouts that give examples of other experiments that our similar to the one we will perform. We also started to set up our experiment by explaining what the variables will be and started the new set of student handouts that were assigned to us by
Mr. V-Ohm today.

Day 4

Today we caught up on the rest of the student handouts. We also figured out what materials will be needed in order to be successful in our experiment and decided who would be getting what.

Day 5
Today we began working on our poster board.

Day 6

Irene is tired so Dale is blogging today.  Basically we discussed using a google form in our project and worked on our poster board.

Day 7

Today we continued to work on our poster and got all of our tea leaves.

Day 8

Today was our practice run of our psych fair project with our parents coming in to test it out.

Day 9

Today was our psych fair at school!

Day 10

In class today we started working on our final draft. After our experiment we concluded that although there are some outliers that overall the gymnema sylvestre tea successfully inhibits the ability to taste sugar. We tested over 200 people to reach this conclusion.

Day 11

Today we calculated the statistics of our experiment. After each participant finished completing the experiment we had them fill out a google form that asked about the taste of the cheez-it and kiss before and after they drank the tea. People commonly recorded that the cheez-it tasted salty before and that the kiss tasted sweet. After they drank the tea, most of the participants reported that the chocolate either tasted bitter or had no taste and the results for the cheez-it varied, with most people stating that the tea didn't affect their taste of the cheez-it or that they weren't able to taste the cheez-it either.
